Book review Anne of Green Gables

Book review Anne of Green Gables

Hi guys my name is ZOe and this is books coffee classics. Today's video is going to be one of my quick reviews which are usually anywhere from 3-5 minutes where I talk about a book that I've recently read and I just explained and explore a bit of the themes, ideas, characters and setting in the book. The book that is up for review today is Anne of Green Gables by L. M Montgomery this book is a Canadian classic and since I am Canadians from Toronto I thought that I.

Read this book I must have seen it as a play when I was a child but I don't think I ever ready or I might have read a bit of it when I was a kid but I never really grasped the concept of the book because I have no recollection of it. Anyways Anne green gables probably one of the most enchanting books that I've ever read I'm kind of disappointed I. Didn't read it as a young child because it was so enthralling the setting was really beautiful. I've been to P.E.I.

Think either once or twice in my childhood and I can say with great confidence that LM Montgomery couldn't have chosen a more beautiful settings to have this novel. Let's start with the character Anne is a girl who overcomes her adversity,  the fact that she's an orphan and she's all alone and then she comes to Green Gables and she's so enchanting and enthralling and excitable and she's she's so happy and to eccentric and so intelligent she's quite a beautiful character she's quite a feminist in fact that she doesn't care really what anyone thinks she kind of just wants a female best friend which I. Think is really important in this book because often we see girls in young adult literature ,children's literature , even adult literature where women aren't really friends  they are always pinned against each other and Anne just wants a best friend who's a woman and I think that that's really important and a good lesson for young girls. Um secondly let's move on to Marilla Marilla is extreme stern she's the woman that Anne lives with but she's stern but sassy and kind of hilarious she's quite rtioust it to be honest she slowly starts to like Anne I think that it's really beautiful to watch their relationship go from kind of strangers to something really importan.T now Matthew who is Marilla's brother who they adopt Anne together he is a quite quiet he is what I call a simple man he doesn't say much he uses a line "well I.

Don't know" quite a lot but he quite likes Anne and he starts to speak and discuss issues with Marilla and other women who he's usually averse to talking to because of Anne  this little girl enriches his life and brings him out of his shell and I think that's so important. A lot of the other characters are quite quirky I mean her best friend diana is adorable and sweet Rachel who's a woman who lives in the neighborhood she kind of rude and cruel but in the same way I think she built Annas character. This book was so wonderful for me to read I really enjoyed it and I. Felt like this book is just it's so important I don't I don't know how to expound upon my opinion because the basis of the novel was so relatable to me , Anne you know always wants to be ahead she's always trying to expand her vocabulary which if you guys have watched some of my videos you all know that I like to use an expanded vocabulary and I've always been like that when I was a child in my report cards it would always be written the child has a very large vocabulary and I.

Think that attributes to the fact that I. Have a sibling who is ten years my senior but I really related to that I. Related to wanting to use beautiful and enthralling and enrapturing words um I. Really enjoyed her I related to competing with boys in school and wanting to be seen as smart and not just a girl I really related to that as well I think this book is definitely a classic that everyone should read and I'm definitely going to continue with the series I hope you guys enjoyed this video bye.
