Eleanor and Park Book Review by Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor and Park Book Review by Rainbow Rowell

(Electric tones) -  What time is it  Book review time  'Cause I love Audible  Yeah  It is time for another
Audible.Com book review. Because my Los Angeles life
is filled with driving, so audiobooks rock my world. Audible.Com is the top
provider of audiobooks, with over 150,000 titles to choose from. So many books.

OK, "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell. Rainbow Rowell is a witch. She has to be, she has to be. She has attended Hogwarts; she is a witch.

Because I've read "Fangirl" and now I've listened
to this book on Audible and these books, my heart, my feels. I have a lot of feelings. Warning: mild spoilers ahead. Eleanor and Park.

Eleanark. They have a ship name because they should. They are my new OTP. Well, besides Johnlock.

I mean. Anyway, this book. This book is precious and
adorable and I just wanna eat it. It's a love story.

Guess who's in love? It's Eleanor and Park. But this is not a frilly,
lovey-dovey, sparkly vampire story that makes me want to vomit. No, this love story feel so real. At times, almost too real.

It makes you feel. It is emotional, it is
magical, I loved it. I loved it. So, Eleanor is a sarcastic, curvy girl with the red hair of Merida and the eccentric
wardrobe of Luna Lovegood.

She would totally love Etsy. But unfortunately, she has a
big bully target on her back, not to mention the worst
living situation ever. It makes me want to scream. Please, someone, give
this girl a toothbrush.

Park, on the other hand,
is a punky, half-Asian kid that my sister would totally date. He does martial arts,
has a passion for music, he wears all black, you
know, he's a cool guy, and he loves comic books. I mean. I want a boy that I can
talk about X-Men with.

I have one, it's the best. So these two end up sitting
next to each other on the bus on the first day of school. Eleanor is the new girl, Park
is totally embarrassed by her, and at first, they
absolutely hate each other, which is so high school,
oh my God, so high school. Nailed it.

This book comes to life by
focusing on the little things. These little things that
seem like the biggest deal in the entire world when you
are first falling in love. Oh my God, when they first
held hands, it was so cute. I squealed.

This was me in the car. (Squeals) (gasps) Aww, uhh, ahh, ooh. That's the whole book. (Laughs) I was sucked into their relationship.

The comic books, the music,
the eyeliner, the everything. I was emotionally exhausted. And I could just feel and relate to Eleanor's insecurities around Park. I think every girl that
isn't completely comfortable in her own skin has that problem when they first fall in love.

That worry, that insecurity, that doubt. They get scared that, "Oh
no, he can't possibly love me "as much as I love him." I feel like that was a
constant struggle for Eleanor in this book. Park, on the other hand, was just head over heels
in love with this girl. Oh my God, it was so
adorable, I just, aaah.

Let me read my favorite quote. Here, I wrote it down. It's when he said, "Eleanor was right. "She never looked nice,
she looked like art, "and art wasn't supposed to look nice.

"It was supposed to make
you feel something." Or, as Taylor Swift would say,  Park's world was black and white  But Eleanor was in screaming
color, color, color  The ending. I need a moment. The ending was great,
and sad, and frustrating, and amazing, and just too real, too real. It's too, no.

I hate but then I love
when books are like that. You know? My heart. It just can't be the end, it
can't, it can't be the end. Rainbow, please, please
write another book.

Please, please write
another book with them. I'm not done with these characters. I'm not done with them, I'm not done. They're too great.

But yeah, I loved the book. I loved it so much. So please, go to Audible.Com/tessa
for a 30-day free trial plus a free book, AKA "Eleanor
& Park" by Rainbow Rowell. If you haven't read it
yet, please read this book.

It's so good. And even if you've already read this book, I would really recommend
listening to the audiobook as well because since this book
has an alternating POV, you can really hear the
two voices falling in love, and it's just, it's too cute. Again, Audible.Com/tessa, do it. Starfish.
